Prometheus Group General Pitch
Client: Prometheus Group
Storyboards: Victoria Gillerain
Background
Sometimes when your product targets a very specific industry niche, it can be hard to illustrate and describe its value to potential customers. That’s exactly the issue Prometheus Group was facing- with an AI platform geared specifically towards plant managers and engineers, PG had trouble finding stock footage and photography that accurately depicted use cases for their platform. Our solution was to produce an animated explainer video that abstracted some of the more technical aspects of the platform while still highlighting the core features.
Production
When I tapped Victoria to build the boards and an overall design language for this piece, PG had already created a split script with a general idea of what should be on screen. Victoria’s first draft was a direct translation of what was in the split script, but she and I decided that it wasn’t really working as-is. So, she went back to the drawing board (literally) and built out new boards that were far less text-reliant and leaned heavier on iconography. The client needed the script to be pretty agile as they were still ironing out the correct language for the platform during the production phase. This limited our ability to hire out VO talent, as costs for revisions and waiting on turnarounds for pick-ups were going to bottleneck our timeline. My solution was to record my own voice using the desired pronunciation, enunciation, and rhythm for the piece. I then ran my voice through an AI filter to make it unrecognizable and much closer to the client’s expectations.
Our first attempt at boards that didn’t even make it to the client because we felt like they were too basic.
