CDC National Youth Tobacco Survey
Client: Centers for Disease Control
Agency: ICF
Creative Director: Trevor Piecham
Storyboards: Amanda Moody
Background
The CDC was conducting a nation-wide survey to better understand habits around tobacco products for high-school aged youth. They needed a video series that explained what kinds of questions students and teachers could expect, what is required of participants, and the anonymity behind the survey. They needed three separate videos in this series: a video geared at students, one for teachers prior to the survey, and one for teachers day-of.
Production
Amanda built out the boards with a lot of minimalist shapes representing the questionnaire. Because the design was so loose and not a one-for-one of the actual survey, this gave me a lot of flexibility to play around with fun transitions between frames, including a lot of the morphing and match cuts that made it into the final video.
